Magnus has twenty years private equity experience in originating, executing and managing investments. During this time he has completed transactions with a combined value in excess of $5 billion. Magnus has also held board directorships in a range of companies which together employ over 15,000 people.

Magnus joined Pemba Capital Partners from Cinven, a leading European private equity fund, where he was based in London and responsible for the Nordic region. At Cinven he completed investments in the business services, healthcare and industrials sectors.

Prior to Cinven, Magnus was at Intermediate Capital Group, a global alternative asset manager. At ICG he established the Stockholm office and ran the Nordic investment business. During this time Magnus completed transactions in a variety of sectors including consumer, healthcare, media and telecommunications.

Magnus started his career at Nomura with the investment banking team and then moved into private equity focusing on investments in emerging markets. Part of his time at Nomura was spent on secondment to one of the investee companies.

Magnus is a Director of Device Technologies, HMG, HR3, NDA, Placard and Vital Software.

After graduating from Cambridge University in 1987, Mark spent seven years at Bain & Company advising corporates on a mix of strategy, M&A, and operational improvement projects. He was based in London, Munich and Sydney. Mark led assignments for leading European players in the FMCG, financial services, telecoms healthcare and industrial sectors.

In 1996 Mark co-founded SB Capital Partners, a private equity partnership, which was backed by Bain Capital, one of the leading US private equity firms. On the back of the success of this venture Bain Capital subsequently launched its first dedicated European buy-out fund.

In parallel to this activity, Mark assisted a wealthy Norwegian family build its own portfolio of private equity investments in both early and late stage situations and private equity funds. In 2001 Mark joined Smedvig Capital full time and as a Managing Director was one of the senior executives responsible for investing, managing and reporting on a diversified A$350m private equity portfolio.

Mark moved to Sydney in 2005 to join Pemba Capital Partners and co-led the spin out of the captive fund from Pemba in 2009 and then more recent $650m fundraising (backed by HarbourVest and a group of other global and local LPs) which established the firm as one of the leaders in its segment in Australia and NZ.

Mark is Chairman of the Board at Placard and Coverforce and a Director of Ausreo, Device Technologies, Instant Access, InteriorCo and JobReady.

Prior to joining Pemba George worked as an Executive in Macquarie Capital Advisers’ Industrials group across principal and corporate advisory transactions, and with Deloitte Corporate Finance Advisory.

Tom has over 13 years of experience in private equity, principal investment, investment banking and middle market advisory and valuations.

Tom joined Pemba Capital Partners from Sovereign Capital, the UK ‘Buy & Build’ specialist private equity fund, where he was based in London and focused on investing in mid-market consolidators in the healthcare, education and business services sectors. During this time, Tom was involved in over 40 Buy & Build transactions and has a proven track record in originating and leading successful investments.

Tom joined Sovereign Capital’s investment team in 2008 having previously been with the Investment Banking Group at Macquarie Bank Limited, which focused on principal investment opportunities across a variety of sectors.

Prior to Macquarie, Tom gained substantial transaction experience at Deloitte Corporate Finance both in Sydney and London. Tom’s primary areas of expertise at Deloitte Corporate Finance involved business valuations, independent expert’s reports and corporate advice.

Tom is a Director of HR3, JobReady and Vital Software.

Justin began his career as an auditor within KPMG’s financial services group, focusing on funds management.

David Martin started his career in the air-conditioning industry in 1957 with Bernard Hastie Co Ltd in the UK, progressing to London Manager before arriving in Australia to found Hastie Australia in 1970.

David was formerly the Executive Chairman of Hastie Australia and Non Executive Director of various other Hastie Group Companies.

As of August 2004, David resigned from all executive positions held with Hastie.

Patrick Largier has over 35 years’ experience in the global oil, chemical and mining services sectors with more recent involvement in the agricultural and food industries. Patrick is currently Chairman of HMG Hardchrome Pty Ltd and BEC Feed Solutions as well as a non-executive director of McLean Farms.

Patrick was previously managing director of Ludowici Ltd, an ASX listed global mining services company with operations across five continents. In 2012, following five years of strong growth, he led the sale of the company to FLSmidth. He was then appointed APAC senior VP Mineral Services and Australian Country Manager for FLSmidth as well as leading the global Ludowici integration.

Prior to Ludowici, Patrick spent 15 years with ICI Australia/Orica based in Melbourne in a variety of business general management positions. His final role with Orica was head of strategy and acquisitions. During this period Patrick completed the Harvard AMP program and was a director of Orica Australia Pty Ltd.

Before migrating to Australia in 1992, Patrick worked for Shell for ten years in Cape Town and London. His first job after graduating as a Chemical Engineer was with Impala Platinum in South Africa.
