Pemba Capital Partners recently had the pleasure of hosting the “Healthcare – Perspectives from the Summit” event in Melbourne. This annual gathering brings together a dynamic group of founders, management teams, and industry leaders from across the healthcare ecosystem to explore the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in this vital sector.

The event featured a highly engaging panel discussion with distinguished speakers:

  • Zita Peach: A Non-Executive Director and Chairperson with extensive leadership experience across international markets, including CSL and Fresenius Kabi. Zita serves on several boards, including Vet Partners, Monash IVF, Icon Cancer Care, and Nucleus Network.
  • Stephane Chatonsky: An experienced Non-Executive Director serving on the boards of Cerulea Clinical Trials, Genetic Signatures, Drop Bio Health, and previously chairing Prospection.
  • Kate Quirke: A respected leader in digital health and the current Chief Executive Officer of Alcidion Group, an ASX-listed leader in healthcare technology.
  • Jason Cartwright: A renowned executive in healthcare workforce solutions, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Lumia Care and formerly the CEO of Healthcare Australia.

The discussion covered a wide range of contemporary topics, including the importance of leveraging data to improve patient outcomes, the role of technology in transforming service delivery, and perspectives on workforce management, regulation, and compliance. Our panellists also shared key insights on enabling growth through geographical expansion and assessing inorganic growth opportunities.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our community of founders and management teams for joining us. It is always inspiring to connect face-to-face and hear the unique stories behind each business.

As Jason Cartwright aptly summarised, “In healthcare, at the end of everything you do is a vulnerable person that needs your help. Live it, breathe it, and hardwire it into everything you do.”

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and invite you to join us at future events to explore the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect, learn, and grow with us.
