We are delighted to announce six promotions. Mark Bryan has been promoted to Partner, Rob Haybittel and Jonathan Holding to Investment Director, Vlad Vukic and Tom Simpson to Manager and Katrina Engelbert to Associate.

This news follows Pemba’s strong performance in 2021. In spite of the dramatic changes during the year, Pemba achieved incredible things (https://pemba.com.au/retrospective-2021/).

Mark leads Pemba’s Accelerate team.  Pemba has built the Accelerate team to ultimately drive value-accretion within our partner companies. The core value proposition of Accelerate is focussed around, (1) driving strategically sensible buy-and-build strategies in unison with partner companies to add scale, (2) providing strategic and operational insights at the Board-level leveraging our internally designed Sherpa Toolkit which focusses on helping with value-additions, and (3) ultimately preparing our partner companies for successful exits.

As a member of the Transact team, Rob has led a number of Pemba’s platform investments, including Arteva, RxMx, Vets Central and ONCALL.  Similarly, Jonathan is a member of the Transact team and has performed a key role in Pemba’s Business Services sector team.

Vlad and Katrina have also proven themselves to be valuable members of the Transact team.  Vlad performed a key role on platform investment Arteva, as well as in Pemba’s Financial Services sector team, and Katrina on platform investment Vets Central, as well as in Pemba’s vertical software sector team.

As a member of the Originate team Tom has unearthed a number of proprietary partnership opportunities across non-bank financial services, vertical software and education and training.

Tom Matthews, Partner said: “Promoting talent from within helps maintain the culture we have carefully developed at Pemba and reflects the strong contribution made by these individuals. We are very grateful for the dedication and resilience shown by our whole team over the past 12 months, it has continued to focus on building great market-leading businesses despite the on-going challenges of remote working and impact of COVID.”
