Pemba Capital Partners (Pemba) has partnered with an experienced dental sector management team to establish Averra Dental, a new platform acquiring independent general dental practices across Australia.
ABOUT AVERRA DENTAL
Averra Dental acquires and partners with independent general dental practices on fair, transparent terms, and has 6+ partner clinics to date. Under its Empowered Autonomy model, practices retain their name, team and clinical approach, including treatment philosophy, labs and materials. Averra provides payroll, HR, compliance and accreditation, procurement, marketing, IT and finance support. Partnership options include full practice sale, partial sale with equity, staged retirement and growth capital.
BACKGROUND TO THE PARTNERSHIP
The Australian dental market remains highly fragmented, with the majority of general practices independently owned. Many principal dentists are seeking succession options and operational support while retaining control of clinical decisions. Pemba’s investment thesis is to build a dental group that offers practice owners an alternative to traditional corporate models. Rather than acquire an existing group, Pemba partnered with a management team it knows well, combining their dental sector experience with Pemba’s multi-site healthcare experience, to establish Averra Dental. Pemba’s investment completed on 16 September 2026.

THE FUTURE
Pemba will work with the management team to grow Averra’s network through the acquisition of further independent general dental practices, building regional clusters that share staff, systems and expertise. Pemba will also support investment in technology, graduate pathways and clinician equity.
