Welcome back to another Meet the Team segment. In this segment, we speak with Shannon our Marketing, ESG and Investor Relations Manager.

If you were cast away on an island, what three things would you take with you and why?

Art supplies to pass the time, a magnifying glass for fire and to signal for help (I couldn’t bear to be alone that long) and my original iPod fully loaded. I’m sure it still works…

What is something the rest of the Pemba team might not know about you?

I’ve been here so long I don’t have many secrets left. If I had the funds I’d be an adrenaline junkie; white water rafting, sky diving, shot over jet, diving with sharks but maybe not base jumping.

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?

Albania, it’s new to me. Warmth, freshwater swimming, history, culture, friendliness, Greek & Italian food, dramatic landscapes and not overrun by tourists …yet!

Who has been your biggest inspiration and why?

So many inspirations! I’m so lucky, but for some time it’s been a close friend, through hardship her grace, patience and encyclopaedic medical knowledge is incredible. The whole family is an inspiration and the reason I donate plasma.

Also, my dad, who has just had a hip replacement, still works and is planning yet another skydive for his upcoming 85th birthday. I might join him.

If you could have dinner with any three people (past or present), who would they be and why?

The potential choices and combination keep me awake at night! I want sparks flying, Vivienne Westwood, Tilda Swinton and Ricky Gervais. If I could sneak them in I’d add Richard Ayoade, Ali Wong, Roxane Gay, Pedro Pascal, Bad Bunny, Courtney Love, Prince and Oscar Wilde.

Book recommendation:

Can’t stop at one. A Prayer for Owen Meany, A Fraction of the Whole, The Little Prince, The Night Circus, and Circe. A dense, grief-heavy American epic, a French philosophical fable, a lush circus fantasy, a feminist retelling of Greek myth, and an Australian cult novel most people have never heard of.
